My name is Matt Batory. I'm, as of 1/31/13, 16 years old. Throughout the past few years I have heard bits and pieces of the whole idea of "Lucid Dreaming," but I never researched it or did much with it. A few days ago, my friend Dan shared an experience with me and told me about how last summer, he had trained himself, and successfully had a lucid dream. As soon as he told me this, I was interested. I hope that this blog can serve as a motivation to anyone looking to lucid dream, no matter what age or skill level. I have no skill previously whatsoever with anything involving this. So if I can do it, you can too.
The first thing I decided to do was to increase my memory recall. For anyone who doesn't know, memory recall is pretty much self explanatory. It's the ability to remember your dreams vividly. To do this, I've started keeping a "Dream Journal" of any and every dream I remember.
From starting the process of Lucid Dream training on the night of January 29th, I have remembered 2 dreams from each night. I find that the dreams I have are connected in some way. As if when I wake, it is but a pause in my dream. Rather, the turn of a new page in a book. The same basis, but different occurrences surrounding it.
Although I do not wish to share everything that happened in my dreams, they are connected.
On the night of the 29th, I dreamt of my friend Kenny and I driving around, and eventually drove onto a dock for whatever reason. After waking up, recording my dream, and going back to sleep, I dreamt of an old friend of mine and his mom driving on that very dock, or a similar one, perhaps one next to that other one - both dreams taking place in a car. On the night of the 30th, I dreamt of being in a church, for some kind of ceremony. After waking, recording, and falling back to sleep, the second dream had a group of adults getting ready for something. They were dressed as if it was going to be a church setting. Maybe these don't mean the dreams are necessarily connected, but I will continue to record my progress.
So far, during my dreams, I sense that I have an idea I am dreaming, but I cannot bring myself to perform a reality check during a dream. However, I am excited to know that my dreams remain vivid to me, and I can imagine the exact places where my dream took place with much detail. Hopefully this will help me to possibly recreate those dream settings with similar, if not the same, people.
This is only my first of many posts. I plan to post every day for a while to tell you of my progress and how I got there. Thanks for reading, I hope this helps you.
